2018 is flying by! I can hardly believe it’s already mid-June. The Summer Equinox and longest day of the year is June 21, and that means the scorching heat of Florida is officially here. This also marks the final quarter of my time as Space Coast FPRA President. I’ve enjoyed holding this role the past year, and seeing the chapter grow and succeed. I couldn’t have done it without the incredible Space Coast Board of Directors. I’m happy to announce that many of this year’s board will be continuing on to the 2018/19 Board of Directors. We’re also welcoming a few new board members too. If you’ve ever been interested in leadership with the Space Coast chapter, then I invite you to reach out to me about how you can get involved.

We have some amazing events planned for you this summer. Our June event is next Friday and is FREE for members, so be sure to register if you haven’t already. In July, we announce the PR Pro and Communicator of the Year awardees, so get your nominations in before June 22. August is State Conference, and I’ve already heard from many chapter members who will be attending. This year is the 80th anniversary for FPRA, and they are inviting everyone to submit their FPRA stories for the museum. If you haven’t registered, do it before July and submit your story too. If you can’t attend this year, you can still submit your story online here before June 29.

Since this is my last letter as President, I want to personally thank everyone for giving me the honor to serve the membership this past year. I’m very proud of how much the chapter has grown, and enjoy connecting with all of you during our monthly programs. I’m excited to hand the gavel to Samantha Senger, APR, this August, and feel confident she will do an incredible job.

Sincerely,

Sarah Hansen

Space Coast FPRA President
