Annual Roast & Toast
Thursday, August 23, 2012 – Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place

Each year, The Space Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association hosts an event to honor two community leaders – we toast our “PR Professional of the Year” and “roast” a well-known community leader. This elegant and fun evening invites business professionals from all over Brevard to enjoy in the festivities. We welcome you to join us at the event, and to support our honorees and this program through a sponsorship.

“Inspire A Generation” is the slogan adopted for the 2012 Summer Olympics. Linked to the intended legacy of the Games, the slogan seeks to encourage more young people to take part in sport.  With this in mind, the Space Coast Chapter of Florida Public Relations Association extends the same inspiration for the legacy of the two honorees at this year’s Roast & Toast: the PR Professional of the Year, Rosalind Harvey, Senior Director of Communications & Community Affairs, Canaveral Port Authority; and well-known community leader, and Roastee, Victoria Peake, CBA, Director of Small Business Development Center, Brevard Community College.

2009 Roast & Toast Draws 115 guests!

Last Friday’s Roast & Toast event was a great success, drawing 115 guests and FPRA members. The evening included the presentation of the 2009 PR Professional of the Year Award to Jessica Rye, APR, and the 2009 Chapter Awards. Carey Beam was chosen as the Rising Star; Mat Haggar received the Doris Fleischman Award and Geo Ropert was named Member of the Year. We celebrated our chapter’s 25th anniversary recognizing our Past PResident’s in attendance and guest roasters David Brock, Bill Ellis and Jack Rood “Roasted” Sandy Sanderson. Tweets were coming in all during the evening with fun messages and info for Jessica and Sandy, and our tropical room and food was a hit with guests. The coconut shrimp and Blue Hawaii cocktails started the evening with a tasty twist. Our state President, Lanette Hart, APR, CPRC, attended and Emcee Mike Rein kept the evening lively and entertaining!
