2012 FPRA Media Summit

The 2012 FPRA Space Coast Media Summit was a  success and was enjoyed by all–media, pr reps and the public.

The esteemed group of panelists shared their insights, knowledge and were available for questions and personal introductions.

The Community Panel included Rebecca Wood, Editor, Space Coast Business; Javier Molinares, Publisher, Al Dia Today; Suzy Fleming-Leonard, Custom Content Editor, Florida Today; and Jill Gaines, Publisher Viera Voice.

The Broadcast/Mulitmedia panel included: Greg Pallone, Bureau Chief, Central Florida News 13; Ed Pierce, Editor, Spacecoastdaily.com; and Ryan Seloff, Editor, Destination Brevard.com

2012 Media Summit

The Space Coast Chapter’s annual Media Summit (formerly Media Roundtable) is scheduled for THURSDAY, APRIL 12, 2012.

Plan to join us to meet and mingle with Brevard County’s top media representatives.  This event includes presentations by multiple media representatives and offers attendees the opportunity to engage, ask questions and learn about the local media outlets.

Additional details:

Time: 8:30 a.m. networking/registration, 9:00-11:30 a.m. program

Location: Holiday Inn Viera

Cost:  $40 non members, $35 members, $30 students

Includes: continental breakfast, snacks and drinks

FPRA Space Coast Media Roundtable a Success!

On June 16, the Space Coast Chapter of FPRA held the Media Roundtable at the Holiday Inn Melbourne – Viera Conference Center.  Representatives from local and national media outlets discussed the best practices for submitting press releases and pitching potential news stories, as well as how technology is affecting the dissemination and distribution of news in the digital age.

The event was open to the public and more than 100 people attended the event and met correspondents from the Associated Press, Brevard Business News, Space Coast Media Group (Space Coast Living, Space Coast Living Health), FL TODAY, The Orlando Sentinel, Reuters, Florida Trend, and Orlando Business Journal. All proceeds from the event will benefit Rolling Readers Space Coast, an organization that serves serve economically disadvantaged children in Brevard County and brings the joy of reading and love of quality literature to thousands of local children.
