On June 16, the Space Coast Chapter of FPRA held the Media Roundtable at the Holiday Inn Melbourne – Viera Conference Center. Representatives from local and national media outlets discussed the best practices for submitting press releases and pitching potential news stories, as well as how technology is affecting the dissemination and distribution of news in the digital age.
The event was open to the public and more than 100 people attended the event and met correspondents from the Associated Press, Brevard Business News, Space Coast Media Group (Space Coast Living, Space Coast Living Health), FL TODAY, The Orlando Sentinel, Reuters, Florida Trend, and Orlando Business Journal. All proceeds from the event will benefit Rolling Readers Space Coast, an organization that serves serve economically disadvantaged children in Brevard County and brings the joy of reading and love of quality literature to thousands of local children.
